"Korra couldn't have less in common with Aang, the previous Avatar. A 17-year-old girl from the Southern Water Tribe, she is as hot-headed and eager as she is talented. When she runs away to Republic City, her stubbornness and impatience get in the way of her bending studies, but it is clear from the start that she is destined for greatness. Korra discovers many new things in Republic City - some amazing and some terrifying. Whether its honing her bending skills in the Pro-bending Arena, facing off with street thugs or facing an anti-bending rebellion, Korra learns that being the Avatar comes with many dangers and responsibilities. As if being a teenager wasn't hard enough on its own!"
Korra's hair is semi-thick and hard to do anything with, so she doesn't do a lot with it. She doesn't use product, and her accessories are mostly there to keep it out of her face. She usually just runs a brush through it and then clips those hair... thingies on. Which is why she ends up having those wisps or stray strands of hair - because she doesn't use anything special to keep it in place. She is also jealous of Asami's hair because of this, and pretends not to care.
Working Out
Korra loves to work out, because it keeps her strong and her muscles toned. She has fun doing it. However what she really likes is to do it where someone can see/will watch her. She's really big on showing off her strength and having people be impressed by it, so if she can she'll work outside or in a gym that's used by other people. -Not only that but I suspect Working Out is something she could have done with her father, and she was inspired to be so buff because he was fairly ripped himself.
Food
Korra loves food. She loves to eat. Because she works out a lot it keeps her energy up, and simply because food tastes so good she'll end up having a big appetite most of the time. Sort of like an anime shounen hero, if you will. She's also not extremely big on manners, so she tends to talk with her mouth full (as seen during The Spirit of Comeptition).
Manners
While Korra knows basic manners she tends to ignore them a lot. She was never really "taught to be a lady," and instead all of her growing experience was focused on "taught to be the Avatar." Manners were less important to teach, so manners became less important to learn and use. The exception, however, is in showing respect to elders and teachers. While she tends to forget this when she's angry or her mind is otherwise occupied, Korra will still bow respectfully when she remembers to be polite. However dinner table manners? Nope. Elbows on the table, and talking with your mouth full all the way.
