[Korra wanted out. Out of the Avatar House and into somewhere more spacious. She appreciated the kindness of the people from her past offering to let her and Asami stay as long as they liked, but Korra needed to breathe. She needed to be somewhere that didn't have Legendary People or Master Benders everywhere she turned. An inferiority complex began to grow because she was the only Avatar without airbending. It stuck like a thorn in her foot. So she and Asami moved out, and into House 58. It wasn't a big move, and Korra felt weird taking a house all to themselves... but it was probably best to stick near the Gaang, even if Simply Existing was causing emotional problems for each other. Korra and Asami didn't have much to move, but the taller girl insisted on shopping so one can probably find Korra moving interior decorating things into the house, practicing bending outside the house, or even making faces at items in shop windows/her reflection.

When she and Asami have settled in Korra attempts at making a voice post in the solitude of her room. She does her best, but the entry is fail-locked from Asami 30% Filtered. HOW DOES I FILTER. Hopefully Asami isn't looking for a post from Korra and it'll slip by unnoticed.]

Hey, uh... Luceti, could you help me out? There's this guy I really like back home, and he's dating this girl that... I thought was just some prissy, elegant, beautiful girl who was too perfect. But actually - I don't know. She seems pretty cool here, I guess.

What do you think I should I do?

Hey, there's a pecking order. You've gotta at least take down a cultist first. It's only fair.

The Third Party. They're the guys the Malnosso are fighting. Which we also end up fighting. Basically they're a bunch of jerks with huge wings for flying, a penchant for outdated armor and weapons, and attacking in hordes. And that's just the regular ones.

...And the not-so-regular ones?

Well, there's the Elites. They're just strong. Sometimes they're faster than us, sometimes they're stronger, and sometimes you can't hurt them because they're nearly invulnerable or they heal super quick. Sometimes it's all of those combined. I've seen them survive explosions to their face. They're powerful and won't stop until you're dead. [And hell. He killed himself taking one out.]

But then there's Shifters. That's where it gets bad for you benders. They can block any special powers if you're within a hundred meters of them. That means no bending. And to make it worse, they don't travel alone. They like to sit around and let the other soldiers pick people off.

[Korra grits her teeth, and her hands clench into fists. She doesn't like the sound of that. Especially the second part. Their drinks arrive, and to avoid tackling or thinking about that subject any longer Korra picks up her root beer float. Avoidance maneuver of the day: sucking down soda and ice cream.]

[A familiar tactic. And one he won't hold against her. As his own arrives, he drinks a bit of it before adding:]

Well. Anyway, we had one a few weeks ago. If they stick to their pattern, it may be another three months before they call us in again.

[She chews on her straw.]

Yeah. This is better with a spoon.

[He demonstrates this by taking a spoon to scoop out some of the ice cream.]

[Oh that does look good. She tries that, but ends up with more ice cream than she should, and soda kind of spilling back into the cup with loud 'plop's.]

[That makes him snicker. Oh Korra. It's good to see she can fail too.]

Maybe you need to work on your ice cream technique too.

It's not like I can just ice cream-bend.

For which I am incredibly relieved. Because that would be gross.

Hey man, I think ice cream bending might be pretty cool.

You can already bend snow. Is there really that much of a difference? I'd rather just use a spoon than have to wave my arms around to get something in my mouth. It seems less embarrassing.

You mean more cool.

Riiight. While you wave your hands around, I'll eat mine like a regular person.

[And he takes a big spoonfull and does just that.]

Oh yeah, that's real cool.

It may look unimpressive to you, but I've had years of practice at this. It's all in the wrist.

Think you could teach me?

What, me? Teach an Avatar the secret and mysterious ways of nonbending? I don't know. I'm pretty sure that isn't in the job description for either of us.

Didn't know Nonbending was so super secret club.

It's extremely exclusive, Korra. Why, back when we were saving the world, I started a secret organization just for nonbenders. It had a diverse membership consisting of warriors, like yours truly, brilliant inventors and freedom fighters. It was so popular, that Avatar Aang himself begged to be let in.

That's too bad. I guess you can't be a part of my Team Avatar, then.

[Asami told her about it.]

I don't think I could really pull off deal-membership in two Team Avatars. Besides, I wasn't done! I let Aang join. And Katara. And Toph. And Zuko. And Haru, who probably isn't as famous, but he had a beard and mustache.
