[After some healing, cheering up, and getting to the village, Korra makes it back to the house. Her body is still in a pretty bad shape (find the original condition here) but it's better than it was. As Korra's hand rests on the door knob she wonders if anybody missed her. If they cared. To be honest, despite the fact they lived together she's not sure if they're really close at all. She frowns. No, even if they don't care at least she's back. From one cage to the next. At least this one has decent food.

She turns the handle and walks in. She'll probably keep inside for most of the day for those who want to see her (also she's wearing a new feather dress).]

[It's not necessarily that Asami's been moping and depressed the whole time Korra's been gone. More that she's been jumpy, scared, and upset whenever she stopped to think about it. Andshe couldn't stop thinking about it for much of that first week. And right now to go with her coming back in the rain, Asami's sitting at the coffee table on the couch they set up, wondering how she should... redecorate. Again. ...Man she's going crazy here, isn't she? Sigh.

-The door's opening?]

Tahno, did you go out and get wet again?

[Korra laughs. She's no longer wet thanks to her trusty bending.]

Nnnnot Tahno, actually.

Korra-? [And she stands. She in facet gets bolt up and wide-eyed races to the door] Korra, oh my gosh you're back?!

[Oh wow. She was really worried, wasn't she? This is what having friends is like?]

Yeah, it's me. I'm fine.

You're sure- you? ...You really need to change out of that outfit.

[Because wow that is not flattering, particularly with the cuts. And it gives her something else to focus on]

-Oh, right. I should throw on something underneath it.

[She doesn't mind the dress itself right now. It'll remind her to heal herself later.]

[Through the grapevine, Sokka found out Korra was back. Word gets around about that kind of thing, after all. So when he's finished at the smithy, he drops by before it's dinner time to check in on her. He's been through kidnappings enough times to know how horrible they are. The first time is awful and though it never gets easier, there's no shaking that sense of powerlessness that comes with it.

Even if his first time was him hopped up on drugs and playing sock puppets with Samurai Jack.

He'll come a knocking in the afternoon. If she isn't answering the front door, it'll be to her room after a housemate lets him in.]

[Korra is actually sitting on the couch, so when he knocks she hollers:]

It's open!

[Well in that case, Sokka lets himself on in. Casually scoping out the place, since he doesn't come by here that often. Seems. Nice. He has a box of something in his hands that smells bakery fresh.]

Hey Korra. [... oh, she's in a New Feather dress. Huh. He'll just, casually avert his eyes elsewhere.] I heard you were back.

[...Korra smells food. She smiles, and then leans forward on the back of the couch.]

In the flesh. What'd you bring?

[Action: Aug. 15]

Flesh. Yeah. [Sure is a lot of that, isn't there.

Sokka sets the box on the table and opens it. There's muffins! Blueberry, to be precise.] I don't know if we've invented these yet in our world, but these are blueberry muffins. I guess it's kind of a tradition now for when... you know, stuff happens. [Tradition for him and Mayoi. And Katara. But it's spreading.]

[Action: Aug. 15]

[So what? It's not like this isn't normal. At least she's already slipped on panties and a sports bra by the time you've gotten there Sokka. Korra gets up to grab a muffin. She smells it before taking a bite. Korra gives a please hum of approval as she chews.]

[Aang had never experienced a kidnapping like this before. He hadn't known Korra for long, but he worried deeply for her. And the moment he head she was alright, he was zipping over to her house on an air scooter and knocking a little frantically.]

[She'll answer the door this time. At this point she's already up and munching on some food. When she speaks it's with her mouth full.]

Hey, Aang.

[Action: Aug. 15]

Korra!

[He quickly wraps her in a hug.]

[She winces because she's still a tad sore, but she hugs him back.]

Hey little buddy, didn't miss me too much?

[He upholds the hug for a moment before pulling back.]

I hope it wasn't too much! But I was really worried about you.

[Action: Aug. 15]

Can't be too worried about yourself, right? But I'm fine. Someone helped me get back.

[It's been really comforting knowing people had worried about her. Cared about her. She tries to blow it off as nothing, but it means a lot to her.]

[ Caring about other people is something Tahno actively tries not to do. It's much more efficient to just look out for yourself, he thinks. And when Korra first went missing, he didn't care. She's the Avatar – built for anything their world or this one could throw at her. There was no doubt that wherever she disappeared to, she'd be able to handle herself.

But the longer she was gone and the longer Asami freaked out about it, the more uneasy he felt. If her good friend was that distraught about the situation despite knowing everything Korra was capable of, things must be worse than they seemed. Eventually, that uneasiness turned in to genuine worry. Partly for Korra and partly for himself – could whatever had happened to her happen to him, too?

He's immersed in those thoughts as he walks across the living room, so much so that he doesn't hear the clink of the door handle. It's not until she's already inside that he notices her. There's a moment of stunned silence before he speaks. ]

You look awful.

[She gives him an unamused look as she closes the door behind her. She should probably head toward her bedroom and slip on some undergarments, but a comeback takes first priority.]

Thanks, Tahno. It's nice to see you again too. [And after Billy did so much to cheer her up!]

[ Brushing off her sarcasm, he steps closer in an attempt to get a better look at the condition of her face, and ends up looming directly over her. ]

Nothing a little concealer won't fix.

[ From this angle, it's a little hard not to notice her clothing situation. His eyes flicker down briefly to her chest, then back up to her face. He might tease her about this if a certain question wasn't nagging at the back of his mind. ]

So, tell me. Who managed to best our all-powerful Uhvatar?

[ A more polite person would have waited a while to ask, but "polite" isn't a word that would ever be used to describe Tahno. ]

[She rolls her eyes, and waves a dismissive hand at his first comment. When the question is asked she shrinks a little, and holds her arm. It's a comfort mechanism. Korra is going to try and sound tough, but her body language speaks a little differently.]

Those stupid Malnosso, who else?

[ He heard about the "experiments" held here when he first arrived, but not in detail. Despite her obvious discomfort, he decides to push the subject. After all, he could be next, and this way he would at least know what's coming. ]

What did they do?

[She starts heading to her room. She's uneasy now. Korra needs something a little more comfortable on her body if she's going to keep talking about this. Tahno can follow her up to her door if he wants.]

A lot of things. I don't remember all of it.
[That's half a lie. The bruises look like they were trying to restrain her, the cuts are obviously from them as some are sealed shut from medicine - though others are a little more fresh and seemed like they weren't bothered with. Some places looks like she has been stuck with a needle.]
